Nigeria is separated into 3 part; west,north,and east Nigeria by the river splitting up. Now i will be talking to you about this.
North Nigeria
north Nigeria tend to be very dry and hot and that reason i because it is located nearer to the Sahara desert. Little rain during the six month dry season. Some rivers dry up completely. the northern part of Nigeria has high, flat plains. The Jos Plateau rises up out of the plains. the weather there is cooler and wetter than on the plains below. Most people live and farm on this high ground.The ethnic groups that live here are called the Hausa and the Fulani. The Hausa came here about 1,000 years ago. their village grew into important trading centers and, eventually kingdoms. In the 1200 the Fulani also began to settle in northern Nigeria but differences are what separates these two groups apart in Northern Nigeria.The climate in north Nigeria is hot so people living in the cities live in flat roofs in. their houses made from mud and cover them with roof woven out of reeds or palm leaves. These protect them from the sun. Most Nigerians prefer loose cloths to protect them from the sun. their music use drums called kalangu. The economy has herders and farmers
East Nigeria
East Nigeria used to be an important source of fish until pollution got into the water and killed most of them. East Nigeria sits on the gulf on the Guinea besides a secondary bay known as the Biafra. The Benue River forms the northern edge of the region. the Niger river forms the western edge. This region receives more rainfall than other parts of Nigeria . many years ago there used to be a rainforest here but they have cut them down for timber. The igbo ( pronounced ee-bo) are the largest ethnic group in eastern Nigeria. They settled here thousands of years ago. Unlike the Youruba they did not develope kingdoms instead lived in villages.Each village spoke its own language of dialect Igbo. instead there are more than 300 dialects. In the city of Igbo houses are bulded with mud bricks. metal roofs protect the house from heavy rain. In swampy places build their houses on stilt.In celebration across Africa makes mask for ceremonies . The Economy there are oil and their education. farming used to be a big part of Africa until oil came.
Western Nigeria
The largest city in Africa is located here in western Nigeria called Lagos. western Nigeria sits on the Gulf of Guinea besides a wide bay called the Bight of Benin. the Niger River forms the northern and eastern borders of this part of Nigeria. Before people settled in this area , a tropical rainforest grew along the coastline. The Ethnic groups that live here are the Yoruba. they are also the largest ethnic groups in Nigeria. most Yorubians are Christians although some follow Islam or traditional beliefs.Each Yorubian kingdom have their own dialect. the culture that
Many Yorubas have moved from countryside to one of western Nigeria's. the poor live in shacks that are clustered on the outskirts of the cities. these shacktowns lack electricity, running water, and garbage service. On the countryside yorubaians houses are made in mud bricks.The economy in western Nigeria are farms, factories, and Markets. other than those jobs other Nigerians work as teachers , engineers, or doctors. most women make their money by selling goods on the street.
